Welcome to the Success by the Book Podcast, the place where Christians who want to experience the extravagant goodness of God in all areas of their lives come from mentorship. I am your host, Dr. Inna, and I'll be unpacking the secrets I have learned from the Word of God over the last two decades. Let's dive in. We are going to have an absolute blast today because we're going to talk about something that is so misunderstood or not looked at at all. And this is how you know this is for you. If you find yourself struggling to pray, or when you think about prayer, like, what am I going to say? What am I going to pray about? Or maybe you start praying, and after five minutes, 10 minutes, an hour, you've run out of stuff. You're like, what else is there to pray about? If any of that describes you, then you are in the right place. Because today I am going to show you what Jesus would teach you about prayer if you were here, because he taught this. Okay. This is straight out of his word. In fact, his disciples came to him and they said, Jesus, teach us how to pray. And I don't know why they asked him to teach them how to pray. It could be because they're like, oh my goodness, all these amazing results that Jesus is getting, we know that it's tied to his prayer life. Or maybe they said, they looked at it and said, He spends all night praying. What in the world is he praying for all night? Or they're like, He's the Son of God. We believe he's the Christ, the Son of God, and He has a special way of communicating with the Father. We want to see what that is. But regardless, we are so fortunate that they asked the question and Jesus answered the question, and Jesus talked about what we now know as the Lord's Prayer. Okay? So he talked about the Lord's Prayer. Now, the Lord's Prayer is not something to recite, the Lord's Prayer is a framework of prayer, it's a blueprint of prayer. And today I am going to share with you seven prayers that are in the Lord's Prayer. And there's seven things that you can extrapolate on and literally pray for hours and hours and hours. Like it covers almost every aspect of life. It's so beautiful. And if you become a person who prays this way, you will find out that your life becomes like a well-watered garden. Okay, Luke chapter 11. And I'm going to read, I'm just going to start from verse one. Okay, let's look into the word of God. Hi, Charlie from Georgia. Okay. Okay. Now it came to pass as he was praying, Jesus was praying somewhere. Okay. Jesus was praying in a certain place. And when he seized, when he was done praying, one of his disciples said to him, Lord, teach us to pray. So Jesus had been somewhere praying, he was done praying, and his disciples came and said, Lord, teach us how to pray. Okay. And he as John also taught his disciples. So we're not born knowing how to pray. We don't become Christians and we automatically begin praying. We don't even just attend church randomly and know how to pray. We don't pray based on common sense. The disciples said, John taught his disciples to pray. We see you praying. Teach us how to pray. Okay, so I have to learn how to pray. So even though I'm going to teach this, our ultimate teacher is the Holy Spirit. The Bible calls him our teacher. So, Spirit of the Living God, I invite you in this session to teach us all as we look into your word, teach us how to pray. So that our prayers are effective. They take us deeper in God, they help us manifest God, they give us revelation of who God is, who we are, what we're called to do. By that, we acquire power to become everything He called us to be. And then by that, we also are rescued from all the traps of the enemy. Lord, teach us how to pray. In Jesus' name, amen. Okay? Okay. So we're meant to learn. So if you don't know how to pray, this is not a thing. And if you think you need know how to pray, that might be a little bit of pride. Like we might need to humble ourselves and go, like, Lord, teach me how to pray. Okay. All right. So verse two. So he said to them, When you pray. Now notice he didn't say, if you pray. So this is another thought. I am called to pray. I am called to be a woman of prayer. I'm called to be a man of prayer. We are called to pray. Jesus didn't say, if you pray. Prayer is not something reserved for pastors, it's not something reverse reserved for people who are so deep in God. No, this is every believer, every disciple of our Lord Jesus Christ. When you pray, it's not an if, it's a when. Okay. So we need to learn how to pray, then we need to pray. And this is the reason why, part of the reason why we have a rise and shine every morning, right? We have an opportunity to be with other believers and pray and just cultivate this life of prayer. Of course, you have times when you pray that when you're by yourself, but this way you're just praying every day. And also, why we don't just pray for you, excuse me, we don't just pray for you, also give you scriptures and explain what we're doing because that means every morning when you come on a rise and shine, you are learning how to pray. Right? You're learning how to pray. So, what do I want you to do? I want you, I want you to adopt this attitude of I have to learn to pray, I have to have times of prayer. And if you are not somebody who comes on the rise and shine, I want you to come on a rise and shine with us. It is a prayer movement. We pray every day at 6 a.m. Eastern. We go for about 65 minutes, so we go till 7.05, and we pray and we cover different aspects of life and all of this stuff. So come join us, dcgeorgia.org forward slash prayer. The team has already posted it in the chat. Okay, okay. So then he starts to tell them. He says, When you pray, say, okay, when you pray, say. Okay, so he starts giving us the things. I'm gonna read through and then we'll break it down. He says, Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day. Now we're we're gonna go through all of this stuff, but I want you to know something very interesting. There are many prayers that are only, good morning, Lord, give me this day my daily bread, right? But you see that this is like halfway through the prayer before we even get to give us this day our daily bread. So we're gonna learn the framework, we're gonna learn the protocol of the palace, we're gonna learn how to how to show up before God. Okay, give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, deliver us from the evil one. Okay, so this is the account I'm reading from Luke chapter 11. Okay, there's another version in, if you will, in Matthew chapter six. Okay, okay, so this is he gave us a model of prayer, and we're gonna break it down. And the beautiful thing is this shows us a model of prayer, it also shows the value system of God, okay? God's value system. What did Jesus pray for first? What did he pray for second? What did he pray for third? And all of those things. Okay, now these prayers that I'm gonna give you is not an all-in-all, okay? So I'm gonna give you the template, I'm gonna break it down a little bit, but I want you to understand the Lord's prayer. If you take it as a framework, you can have a six-hour prayer meeting, and all you're praying is the Lord's prayer, okay? Is following the framework. So it's not a prayer to recite, it's a framework of prayer. So think of it this way: you have a book and it says chapter one, this, chapter two, that, chapter three, that. That's what the Lord's Prayer is. Then when you open the book and read the chapter, the chapter is now fully expanded. Okay, so the Lord's prayer, as documented in the book of Luke, is like the outline of a book. Okay. And then the chapters now become all these prayers we can pray underneath each chapter. Okay, under each topic. All right. So let's let's start from the beginning. Now, when we look at the value system of God, we'll see the first place he starts, which was not quite a prayer point, but it gives birth to a prayer point. So the prayer points I'm gonna give you, they're all like inspired by the Lord's prayer. The first thing he says there is our Father, okay? Our Father in heaven, our Father in heaven. The starting point of prayer is relationship. Okay, the starting point is relationship, our father in heaven. It didn't say our creator, it didn't say our mighty God, it didn't say our redeemer, even though the father is those things, but it's like our father, not my boss, not my creator, not that father. Now, if we if we want to sit on this for a little bit, think about the difference between coming to God as your father and coming to God as the creator of the heavens and the earth, right? So think about coming to him as the most high God versus coming to him as your father. Now, the president of any country is probably really powerful. Um, and they probably live in a place very few people have access to, and they have an office that very few people have access to. And maybe if you wanted to get to the president, you have to go through all these protocols. But guess what? That president most likely also has children, and those children don't have to go through those protocols. Those children don't have places closed off to them, they're just barge into the place like, hi dad. Hi, dad, right? So they have access, they have they they have access, and this is this is where we want to start prayer from. Okay. So the very first prayer there is our father, our father in heaven, we're just breaking it down, our father in heaven. And so if relationship is the most important thing, and you were praying based off of the Lord's prayer, what could you pray? Okay, now, how is what is the currency for building relationships? Is something called time, is time spent together, right? I've been married for 20 years. What has made our relationship deeper and deeper? A huge part of it is time, time spent together. Same with your kids, same with like however you want to translate those relationships. When we want to go deeper in our relationship with God, what does that look like? Is time spent in prayer? Is time spent in the word? Is time spent in worship? Is time spent to doing spent doing those things? But now, if you think about your walk with God, you will find out that these are the places where you typically struggle the most, right? Where you, you know, like when you think when you when it's time to pray, or it's time to study the word, or it's time to worship, like everything in you is screaming, right? It wants to do something else. Now, if you're a disciple of God, you've learned how to kind of tame yourself so you can do those things, but you will acknowledge that there is resistance there, right? You decide the the day you decide, oh, I'm going to fast and wait on God, is the day from your room, you're smelling Chick-fil-A, and the Chick-fil-A is five miles away. Like, when did your nose become so powerful that it could smell Chick-fil-A five hours a day, five hours away, right? And you you're like, oh my goodness, you want to study the word, and you open up the word to sleep, and you've been fine the entire time. All of a sudden, now you're sleepy, now you're you're distracted, now you start remembering all the things you have to do. Your mind is going all over the place. So, as somebody who understands the Lord's prayer and it starts with relationship, one of the prayers you can pray is, Lord. So this is the first prayer, Lord, give me the grace to seek you in prayer and in worship. With prayer and the word and worship, Lord, give me the grace. And these things you can start praying them right now, like when we're on the call. Give me the grace. Now, you have to understand something about God. He made you and he can install things in you. So Philippians 2 13 says, It is God working in us, giving us the desire, one, and the power, too, to do what pleases him. God gives us the desire and the power. So, Lord, give me the desire and the power to wait on you in the place of prayer, to study the word, to spend time in worship, right? So I'm cultivating that relationship because my whole prayer life comes out of our Father, our Father who art in heaven, right? So the better my relationship is with God, the more powerful my prayer life will be. Okay. And so knowing that that is something, um, it, you know, like the relationship is the starting point of prayer, then I pray, Lord, give me the desire and the power to spend time in prayer with you, to spend time studying your word, because your word tells me who you are, to spend time in worship, because in worship you reveal yourself to me and on and on and on. This is a prayer worth praying. It is a prayer inspired by the Lord's prayer. Okay. And if you're getting it, type in the chat. I'm getting it. And I want to read another scripture for you. I know I've been quoting a lot, so this one, let me just let me read this from the Bible. Jeremiah chapter 29. Um, Jeremiah chapter 29, and I'm going to read verse 13. Okay. This, what we're learning today, will change your life forever. I started practicing this a few weeks ago. Oh my goodness, just so wild. Okay. Jeremiah chapter 29, verse 13 says, and you will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your heart. How are you searching for him? You are searching for him in prayer. You are how are you seeking for him? You are seeking for him in prayer, you're seeking for him in the word, you're seeking for him in worship. You are pressing in. You got like God is precious, right? You don't find precious things just casually on the street. You don't find gold and silver and oil and all that stuff on the street. Like you have to mind for those things. You have to dig for those things, you have to search for those things. Same thing, the most precious being in the universe, you're not just gonna accidentally just bump into him for not doing anything. No, you're gonna pay the price in prayer, in the word, and all of these, and your flesh will fight you, and Satan will fight you, but you can pray, Lord, put in me a desire, put in me the power to seek after you, to search out for you in prayer, in the word and in worship. Okay, okay, so that's the first thing. Why do you pray this for yourself all the time? Because we can go deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper in God. Okay, we can go deeper in God. Okay, all right, so that's number one. Number one. So the first thing he said, our father in heaven. The next thing he said is, hallowed be your name. Oh my goodness. So hallowed is not a word that we use. So I'm gonna pull this up here for you, and so you'll see it. And I'm doing this in front of you, so you do this too. When you are reading the Bible and you see words you don't typically use, just pull up your phone and put the word and put Bible definition and pull it up. Okay. So hallowed, what is the meaning of hallowed? So here it says it means to make holy. Now, holy is not just clean and righteous, holy also means like set apart, separate, like nothing like it. You know, um, if you grew up in a household where there was daddy's plate and daddy's chair and daddy's all of those things, all of those things were holy, right? Like nobody, it wasn't common. Other people couldn't use it. This was just for him. Okay. So hallowed means to make holy, to consecrate, to set apart for sacred um use. It means to treat God's name and character and presence with the highest possible respect and awe. Now, we live in a time when we don't, like as a culture, as a global culture, we don't hold God as sacred and hold hold him with the highest possible respect for his name and all of that. People swear using his name. People are, I know God said that, but right? All of a sudden, like it's like, yeah, it's God, you know, like whatever, right? But this prayer is like, our Father in heaven, let your name be hallowed, let it be set apart, let it be known as holy. Now, God's name is holy, period. We're talking about our perception, the way we treat it. God's name is holy, period. God's name is hallowed, period. But let it be hallowed, like in my sphere, let it be hallowed in this, in this space in this space, like let me hallow your name, right? Okay, so when it comes to this, there's two dimensions to this. One is that Lord, help me help me to be this person who hallows your name. Like I hold your name and your character and your presence with the highest possible respect. On the other hand, it is also, Lord, let me live in such a way that my life causes other people to hallow your name, other people to honor your name, other people to reverence your name, right? And so one is I hallow his name. I have the fear of the Lord. Fear of the Lord is not like like terror, like scared, the way you'd be scared, you know, somebody would be scared of a snake. That's not what it means. It's reverence, it's respect, is knowing God is a big deal, that God is to be obeyed, like those kind of things, right? So again, it's like Lord, give me the grace to live a life, so to to to hallow your name, and then also to live a life that causes others to hallow your name. How does that happen? When you live a life that is a sign and a wonder, it forces the people around you to honor God's name. If you've had that experience before, where either because of results you got that were signs and wonders, or whether it's because you adopted the character of God, so love, joy, peace, self-control, patience, like all of those things. And people see it, they're like, oh my goodness. Like when they see, they know there is a God and they know that God is real. When they see in the midst of a pandemic, walking in full peace, it's like there should there's a God she's following, like God is the real deal, right? When you get results that cannot be explained, it forces other people to worship God, it forces them to glorify God. So I am living a life where I hallow the name of God, I have reverence for God, I respect God, I see God as a big deal. I don't treat his word as a suggestion, I treat his word as the way of life, I see his word as the final authority, and I live in such a way, manifesting his character, manifesting his blessing, manifesting his glory in such a way that people in my world who are like, yeah, what's God? Da-da-da-da-da. They have to respect him, they have to reverence him because they see what my life is doing. Do you guys see this? So, our father in heaven, I'm praying about the relationship and all that. Then the second one is Lord, give me the grace to hallow your name and live a life that causes your name to be hallowed. Like, how beautiful is that. So, your life is so pleasing to God because you fear him, you respect him, you obey him, you do all of these things, you have this loving relationship with him, you recognize him as the final authority, you recognize that he's a big deal, and your life causes other people to worship him and respect him and come follow him and write all of those things. Imagine how beautiful that life is. Imagine how God will honor such a life, right? Okay, okay, and guess what? You can pray this for yourself, you can pray this for your family, you can pray this for your spouse, your children. This you can pray this for people you're mentoring, you can pray this for your pastor, you can pray like this. Is good stuff, okay? And there could be 70 prayers, but we're just gonna do seven that are inspired by the Lord's prayer. Okay, so that's number one. That's number two. So, our father in heaven, hallowed be your name. And then the third one is your kingdom come. Now notice we haven't gotten to knees, we haven't gotten to law, give me a shoe, oh, give me a new job, or give me a new client. We're gonna get there, we're not there yet. And after today, when you pray, start from this place, start from relationship, start from glorifying the name of God and all of those things. Then kingdom come, right? We're not at we're not at shoes yet. Okay, your kingdom come. Your kingdom come now. Could you pray? You can pray over a place, a territory, like I live in Georgia. We can pray in Georgia, like Lord, let your kingdom come, let your kingdom be established in Georgia. Okay, that's one prayer. But let me tell you the prayer, like we're doing seven prayers. So let me tell you the prayer that's number three. It's it comes from let me live a life that triggers kingdom come. Let me live a life that triggers the advancement of the kingdom. So, those of you on Arise and Shine, you'll always hear me say that I live a life that aggressively advances the kingdom. I invite people like live a life that aggressively advances the kingdom of God. So this is not just you saying, Lord, let your kingdom come, but you're like, Lord, use me as an instrument for your kingdom to come, right? So it's from this standpoint. And you may be thinking, because I thought this when I started my walk with God, like, who am I? I can't advance the kingdom of God, just little me. I don't know this, I don't know that. I'm not like this mighty man of God, I'm not like this mighty woman of God, blah, blah, blah, dah, dah, dah, all of that stuff. Let me tell you something. The kingdom of God is so good, and God is so brilliant that He has put in, He has put a way for every single life to aggressively advance his kingdom. What he needs from you is willingness, not ability, because he has all the ability and he will give the ability to the person who is willing. So, type this in the chat if you're willing, before we even go any further, say, I'm willing. I am willing to live a life that aggressively advances the kingdom of God. I am willing. That's the starting point. Okay, that's the starting point. So, so we're saying your kingdom come, but not like we're dead. Alegating, like let your kingdom come, you know, over there. Let it do this thing. No, it's like, Lord, let me be an instrument you will use to aggressively advance your kingdom. Because we're burning daylight, right? This is all gonna end. Okay, so what is the prayer here? Prayer number three, grant me encounters. Okay, let me let me read another scripture so the prayer won't seem confusing to you. Now, Jesus is somebody who lived kingdom come. His life was an instrument for the aggressive advancement of the kingdom of God. This is the prayer that he prayed at the end of his life. I'm gonna pull it up. It's in a it's in a different translation. And this is John chapter 4, John chapter 17, verse 4 from the message translation. So please listen to this. This is very powerful. Don't want you to miss it. It says, Um, I glore. This is Jesus praying. He said, I glorified you on earth. He was telling the father, I glorified you on earth by completing down to the last detail what you assigned me to do. I glorified you on the earth by completing to down to the last detail what you assigned me to do. So this was what Jesus said at the end of his life. Why? Because he lived a life that aggressively advanced the kingdom of God. He when you understood he was a man on a mission, like you're a man on a mission or a woman on a mission, I'm a woman on a mission. We may not accept the mission, but we're here, so we will accept the mission. And he says, I completed the assignment, the assignment you gave me to advance your kingdom. For him, it was dying on the cross, setting an example of what life can look like if we're followers of Christ, all these things. He did all of that, and then he checked out. For me, I was like, wait, when I first read it, I said, okay, Jesus did that because Jesus is Jesus. Of course, he could do that. Then I was like, wait a minute, hold on a minute. Paul said the same thing. He said, I fought the good fight of faith. I have finished my race. I was like, what? Okay, Paul was not Jesus, Paul was not the sinless son of God. If Paul could do it, then I might could do it. I might could leave this earth after completing down to the last detail what God called me to do. What? Okay, so what is what is prayer number three? Grant me encounters, encounters with you that will cause me to complete down to the last detail the assignment you have given me. Grant me encounters that will cause me to complete down to the last detail the assignment you've given me. In these encounters with God, He can show you who He is because this is the thing, they that do know their God will be strong and do exploits. The more you know of Him, the more exploits you can do. Okay, He may give He may give you encounters that let you know who He is, encounters that let you know who you are, encounters that let you know what your assignment is, encounters that let you know what your tools for your assignments are. Your tools will look different from anybody else's tool. What the core message is, whatever that is. There is nothing that I'm doing that is advancing the kingdom of God that I just sat down and said, you know what? Let me think about what I'm going to do. No. And when I say encounters, I don't mean you're taken up to the third heavens. It may just be ideas, nudges, and instructions somebody gives you, right? So for me, arise and shine, that wasn't that was it like that was direction from God. Do this. Success by the book, that was an instruction from God. Do that. Giving, that was instruction from God. Like, and you just start following him, following him, knowing that God will lead me. God said, I will lead you along the best pathway for your life. I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you. I will watch over you. He wants to lead you. So pray for encounters with him that will cause you to complete down to the last detail the assignment he's giving you. Right? And so these are prayers you can pray. So could you pray kingdom come? Of course. Like in that way, yes. But you could also pray me, me, me, me, me instrument. And when you're praying for your children, your children may decide they're not even following God. You're like, mm-hmm. Take him deeper in you, Lord. Teach him to hallow your name, grant him encounters that will make him complete to the last detail what you assigned him to do. Right? Okay. All right. So that's prayer number three. Okay, number four. So our father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come. Okay. Next one, your will be done on earth. Okay. Hang on. Let me let me put my Bible here. Okay. I want to read something for you. Um here it says, Your will be done, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Please listen to this. Jesus wrote something. He said, not Jesus, he didn't write this. This was written about him. It says, Lo, this is in Hebrews, Lo, I come as it is written of me in the volume of the books to do your will, O God. Lo, I come. Like this is something I started saying for myself. I come as it is written of me in the volume of the books to do your will, oh God. Ma'am, sir, if if a if a builder is smart enough to finish their architectural design before they start building, you best believe that your life has a roadmap that is already documented. There is a will of God for your life that is documented. It's already done in heaven, like your whole life is already completely mapped out. But Jesus demonstrated what we need to do. Like it being there is not enough. You also have to have, Lord, thy will be done in this life as it is in heaven. Your will be done in this life as it is in heaven. What you're doing is you're inviting the intervention of God. You are inviting God directing your footsteps. You're inviting you getting in contact with the right people, you're inviting you getting the right information, you're inviting the His deep calling to your deep resonating with you, letting you know this is the thing you need to do. It's it's resonating. Your footsteps are ordered, you're having an encounter, like all of these things are happening, all designed to get you to this place where when somebody looks at your life and somebody looks at the blueprint written about you, they're the same. They're the same. Now you can pray this for your church, you can pray this for your pastor, you can pray this for your kids, you can pray this for everything, but we're using you as an example because once you get it, you can start deploying this everywhere. Your will be done on earth, your will be done in this life as it is in heaven. You have a business, your will be done in this business as it is in you have a church, your pastor, and your will be done in this church as it is in heaven. Like your will be done. Now, if God's will will automatically happen, then you won't need to pray it. But if Jesus said, You pray this way when you pray, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven, then you have to understand the thing that triggers the will of God being done in your life, in your community, in your church, in your family is prayer. It is prayer. If there was a way to get this done without prayer, Jesus would not have included it. So sometimes you're like, Well, God will just do what God wants to do. Listen very carefully. The Bible says in Psalm 115, verse 16, the heaven, even the heavens belong to God. He didn't invite you to pray there. But the earth he has given to the sons of men. Who has jurisdiction here? So the spirits that will come and function in my life are tied to the spirits I invite. If I invite God, he works. If I don't invite God, Satan will come because Satan doesn't need no invitation. He will come whether you invite him or not. Okay? Same way weeds will grow whether you plant them or not. Okay, so we invite God and we say, Lord, your will in heaven. I don't even know the full details, but I know your will for me is a gazillion million times better than my will for myself. So your will be done in this life. So this is the way I put it let your will be done in all nine areas of my life. What? So in my walk with you, in my family life, in ministry, in my finances, in my intellectual development, in my social capital, in all nine areas of my life. Let your will be done. Let your will be done. If you will pray this, now notice we still even had the shoe yet. We haven't prayed for the shoes. We haven't prayed, Lord, give me this day my daily shoe. We haven't prayed for that yet. Well, your will be done, which means the the blueprint that will be guarding your life will be a blueprint so advanced that you can't even imagine it. You can't even make it up. But it is guiding your life. Why? Because you invited God and you said, Let your will be done. Let your will be done in all nine areas of my life. What? Okay. Number five. Number five. Okay, so number five is a lot of fun. It says, Give us day by day our daily bread. What we need to navigate the day, provide for us. Now, so yes, we talked about we don't start with needs, but we still pray for needs. And if Jesus prayed for needs, who are you not to pray for needs? Like it's kind of pride to say I don't need to. Okay. Okay. So give us day by day our daily bread. But what I want, what I want to point out here is that it's not just food, it's not just stuff for our physical body, it's what we need. So pay attention to this because something that happens, and I guess how you know this, right? Because I did this for so long. Something that happens is when we pray, it's kind of like we have this time of prayer with God, and we go, we go have our morning devotion. Okay, those of you come for rise and shine, you come for rise and shine 6 to 7 a.m. And then you're like, so I'm gonna take the grace from there and use that grace and go figure out my day. Okay. What I mean by that is God didn't send you to go figure out your life on your own. God, I mean, let me give you a few examples. In Jeremiah 33, 3, in the message translation, it says, Call to me and I'll answer you, and I'll show you marvelous and wondrous things you could never figure out on your own. You can never figure this out, right? And God is like, I'll show you. You ask me, I'll tell you. Now, did he say, Call to me about spiritual things and I'll answer you? He said, Call to me, period. Which means all this time you've spent thinking, how am I gonna get out of debt? You can ask him, Lord, what do I do with this boss that's treating me this way? You can ask him, Lord, I have this client who is having this challenge, I'm not sure how to handle it. You can ask him. You're going about your day, you're like, oh my goodness, I'm so tired, I can't even have it. You can ask him to strengthen you. You have to go for a job interview. You can ask for favor for the job interview. Like, don't leave God in the closet where you did your morning devotion, then go face your day. With grace, you think you got. Take God with you. You're going to work, take him with you. You're gonna speak on stage, take him with you. You're gonna, you know, parent your children, take him with you. You're gonna go work out, take him with you. You're gonna go prayer. You're like, Lord, there is no five of my being that wants to pray. Take him with you. So give us this day. Our daily bread is everything you need to move forward in all nine areas of your life. So, yes, it may be shoes, yes, it may be your home, yes, it may be that, but it may be favor, it may be grace, it may be, it may be, it may be those things. It can be, it may, it may be wisdom. You got promoted, and you're like, Well, I'm not doing none of this stuff. Wisdom, revelation, understanding, specifics. Let God be woven into the fabric of your day, the way you are. For so long, we have gone and left our unfair advantage and gone and faced our days by ourselves. We need to stop that, we need to stop it, and we need to take God into our day. So, what do you need for your day? For me, like I run a business and there is a milestone we're trying to cross. I need insight for that. I'm coming to do success by the book. I need God's grace for that, right? I have to do some stuff with my children. I need the wisdom for that. I'm going to have a meeting. I invite God into the meeting. Like he'll be oversight for the meeting and he'll direct the conversation. Do you guys see what I'm saying? Like, take him, take him into all of it. All of it. There's a thing you don't like, like early days of my business. I didn't like looking at numbers. Like when I say number, like profit and loss statement, accounting numbers, quick books, all I'm like, uh, I'm like, don't want to touch it. Ask him. Like, Lord, I don't like this stuff, but you know everything. I need wisdom, I need grace to become a boss in this because there's no way to run multi-million dollar businesses and still run away from profit and loss statements. Help me, Lord. You guys get that? Okay, so give us this day our daily bread. You are asking him for the specific, tangible and intangible needs that you have. Lord, this debt, oh my goodness, and they're calling. Right? You ask him for it. Lord, we've been looking for a home to move into. Open, open, open my eyes to see where our home is. I cannot tell you, like, even the church building that we're in, it's a well, at the time we bought it, was a three, it was a three million dollar building. We had been looking, and God is like, this is what is gonna happen. This is where your building is. You can ask him for these things, right? Arthur E. Cheeton, God bless you. Says so many days where I pray and I read my Bible, but I bookend God, right? The morning and the evening. Then I go do life, right? So it's now morning and life and evening. We take God into all of it. This is how we make our life signs and wonders. This is how we make our life signs and wonders. Okay, let me give you a practical example. I um I'm working on a book. I'm working on a book, uh business book for physicians. So in one of my businesses, I do business education for physicians. I help them build seven and eight-figure businesses. This is my job. Okay. So I'm working on a book and I'm working with uh with a with a writer, and I needed to work on chapter two. And I was like, man, you know, what I had, I knew I could just sense like this is not the thing that's gonna be a game changer. This is not going to be a sign and a wonder. This is gonna be great. People are gonna be like, oh my goodness, Dr. Una, you're so smart. I know they're gonna say that, but this is not the thing. Like, there's stuff missing. And God's like, what are you doing? Ask me. I'm like, oh yeah, yes, Lord. I was like, Lord, I'm called to be your mouthpiece. You want to talk to these physicians. Like, what is it that you want to say? What am I missing? Like, anoint me to do this stuff. I don't want it to be my words, I want it to be your words. Then God's like, okay, remember this material that you taught over here? That's a huge chunk of chapter two, go listen to it. Then this and this part and this part, and remove this part, add this part, all this stuff. I was like, whoa. When I met with my writer, it was so crazy. At the end of it, it's like usually when I when I meet with people to work through a chapter, I don't take any notes. Like, I have my transcriber there, I don't take any notes. He said, I took a lot of notes. This is brilliant, this is genius. Oh my goodness, like like this helped me. Like, my life has changed because of what I just heard. Like it was wild, and it like the anointing was on me, like the same way it would be if I was on a rise and shine or is this talking about it? And I was like, Whoa, what is going on here? It was so good. Like, I can't wait to see what happens when that when we release that book. Do you see what I'm saying? So it's not God in the morning, God in the evening, is take him in there and then ask him for specific things. Specific. You hear you work a job. This is the fastest path to promotion. There are challenges they have in your office, nobody knows what to do about it. You ask God what to do about it, He'll show you. You go there, they're like, Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. I can't tell you how many people have gotten promotions and raises and all that stuff because of this principle. Okay, you have a child, you have a challenge in your marriage, all of that stuff. Bring it here. And you can talk to God about every aspect of your life. Okay, so that's number, that's number five. Give us this day our daily bread. Okay, number six, then says, and forgive us our sins. This part I'm gonna I'm gonna read it. Let me go back. Hold on, let me go back to Luke chapter, because this part, uh, yeah, we're gonna sit here for a little bit. Okay, Luke chapter 11, verse what verse is that now? Um, verse four, and forgive us our sins. We love forgiveness, for we also forgive everyone who's indebted to us. Forgive us our sins, for we forgive others. Okay, so this is a conditional prayer. Okay, let me answer this real quick. Someone's asking, how do you invite God into everything? Prayer. You take the thing and you pray about it. You take the thing, you ask him about it. Like, Lord, what do I do about this? Or Lord, I need this, whatever that is. So it's prayer, right? You take so give us this day, our daily bread. So, whatever the daily bread you need is the wisdom, the answer, the insight, the favor, the connection, whatever it is. Pray about everything, not spiritual things, everything. Pray about every aspect of your life, pray about everything. Okay, all right. So let's go back to number five. So, number five, forgive us our sins, number six, sorry, forgive us our sins. But Jesus didn't say forgive us our sins, period. He says, forgive us our sins because we also forgive everybody. So, and after this, you know, he tells the parable of the person who was forgiven and didn't re and refused to forgive somebody else that you had the debts forgiven, refused to forgive somebody else that owed him. And then the master was like, put him back in prison until he pays everything. Please, please, please, pretty, please. 17 cherries on top. Forgive everyone you have something against. You may say, Dr. Una, you don't know what they did to me. You don't know what I've been through. And you're right, I don't know. But if you notice, Jesus didn't make no exception for you. Okay. Now we can probably talk about how to let go of hurt on a different day, but I want to give you, um, I want to give you a few things. Number one, remember we start with our father and we start with respecting God, and we start with with honoring God and holding him in high esteem. We have to adopt a stance of obedience. And so if God asks me to forgive, even though I've been wronged, the question is not, will I do it or not? The question is, how can I do it? Because I have adopted the stance of obedience. I have adopted the stance of reverence. So even now, let's practice. I forgive everyone who has hurt me. Right? Like this is the this we are not people who are like, I know God, I know the word of God said it, but we don't do that because we have reverence from God. So the question is, how can I? Okay, and you have to remember, God has forgiven us for more than anybody could have wronged us. We have wronged God more than anybody could wrong us. We have wronged him. We have wronged him more, okay? And so if we like mercy and we like forgiveness, we also have to be people who dispense forgiveness. Okay, we have to be those people. So you're not you're just like, oh my goodness, I can't even bring myself to do it. There are a few tricks you can do. One of them is you can say, I obey God and I forgive this person. Every part of your body is screaming, every part of your life is great, rah, we don't forgive them, right? Right. But you can say, I forgot, you can say, I forgive this person. I forgive them. Now, the feeling is not going to go away, but one of the things I have done is when the feeling comes out, or I'm I decide to pray for the person, right? I decide to pray for the person, I decide to ask God to bless the person, and that is me going counter-culture by count when I say counterculture, counter my feelings, right? And then remember yourself. Remember, remember, you have two options. You can forgive and receive forgiveness, or you cannot forgive and not receive forgiveness. So the question is, are you so upset about what that person did that you're willing to go to hell for it? You're because you don't get forgiveness, you go and you're going to hell. Okay? Because we've done a lot and we're not done doing. Now we grow and we drop things off, but we have so much to fix. So has the person offended you so much that you're like, for what they did, I will never forgive them. And consequently, I will never receive forgiveness. And I'm willing to blow hell wide open rather than forgive this person. So if you think about it that way, because when I think about that way, I'm like, I know you heard me, but you ain't that serious, man. I'll try and go to heaven. I'm trying to get a street named after me. I'm trying to get me some pearls on my crown. I ain't got time for you. Okay. So it's only two options. There are not three options. There's no Burger King option. Have it your way. There's no option like that. There are two options. Forgive and be forgiven. Don't forgive and don't be forgiven. And you need a whole lot of forgiveness. Okay? Okay. So that's the condition. That's the condition. So we have to talk about the condition first. And so we forgive them. And then we ask God for mercy, right? So there are things we've done to wrong God, there are things we did that were not right. There are things we did, all of those things. We come to Him and we're like, Lord, here I messed up. I messed up. I ask for your mercy. I bring repentance, forgive me in Jesus' name. And then don't hold it because God forgives you, period. Like when you come, He forgives you. So when you walk away after doing that, it's a clean slate. You clean like you didn't do it. You're clean as if you didn't do it. Someone is asking, how do you know if you've honestly forgiven? It's a decision. So you decide. Your feelings will need time to catch up. So people think I didn't forgive, I didn't forgive this person because um I feel a certain way. No, your feelings will take a while to catch up. It's a decision. So you can use your mouth. I forgive this person and I let them go. And when you remember them and all these feelings come up, you choose to pray for them. And you declare it again. Thank you, Lord, for giving me the power to forgive this person. And you pray for them. Lord, let your hand rest upon them, bless them, lead them to deep and counter. You can even pray the Lord's prayer for them. You know what I'm saying? So you you counter the feelings. Okay, but it's a decision, it's not a feeling. The feeling will take a while. So I don't hurt you, it'll take a while for the feeling to follow. Okay. Okay. So you ask for forgiveness and receive the forgiveness. Okay. We ain't waiting. We we ask for it, we receive it, we have a clean slate. The blood of Jesus has washed us clean. When God looks at us, we have right standing with Him. We are righteous. Okay. Okay. Now, verse um the next one. So the seventh prayer. Okay. The seventh prayer. And deliver us. So this is what it says, and deliver us. Do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. So this is the way I split this piece. Now, so people say, Oh, I don't, I don't, I don't, I don't focus on the devil, I don't pay attention to the devil. I mean, like I'm a king's kid. Hello. If Jesus prayed, Lord, rescue us from the evil one. It is pride for you to say, I'm not gonna pray that. It is pride for you to say, No, I just let sleeping dogs lie. The devil was never described as a sleeping dog. Okay, now are we supposed to be afraid of him? No, but we are supposed to use the resources that God has given us, aka prayer, that's one of them, to keep him in check. So this is a prayer I pray over my life. What is the prayer? Number seven, Lord, rescue me from all temptation, all evil, and the evil one. Lord, rescue me from temptation and all evil and the evil one. So the enemy may have planned whatever he played he planned, Lord rescue me. He may have set whatever trap he set, Lord rescue me. They may be evil in the earth, Lord rescue me. This is why we call God our deliverer, our strong tower, our fortress, right? Because he delivers us. So do I have to wait? Oh, the other shoe is gonna drop. I don't have to wait for that because I took care of that. Lord, deliver me from all temptation, from the evil, from all evil, and from the evil one. If Jesus prayed it, you should pray it. I am definitely praying it. Now, one of the things I do when and I have a I have a treat for you guys. You guys want to treat? You want to treat? Type in the chat, we want to treat. I will I will make the treat right now. Who wants a treat? Oh, this is so good. So good. Okay. You guys want to treat? Because this is the theory. And if you guys want the treat, I will give you the practicals. Okay, where you can then pray this thing, and I'll pray alongside you. We'll pray this thing together. Okay. Now, and then when you're done with all of this, because you're somebody who receives prayer, let me show you something you can do. Okay, you can then declare this whole thing. So, for instance, let me let me let me use what we did as an example. I thank you, Lord, because your grace. I'm starting from the top, our father, I'm starting from the top. Your grace, the your grace is upon my life to seek you in prayer and word and the worship. I'm empowered to do this. I don't struggle in the place of prayer. I'm empowered by God to do it. I declare in the name of Jesus that I live that I reverence my king. I honor my king. I see him as a final authority, I see his word as the final authority, and I live in such a way that my life provokes worship and honor to his name. I declare in the name of Jesus that I have encounters regularly. And these encounters with God, they cause me to complete down to the last detail the assignment God has given me in my life, in all nine areas of my life, the will of God is done as it is in heaven. I declare in the name of Jesus, and now you can declare it like whatever specific things, the wisdom required to take my business to the next level. It rests on me. I have favor as I go about this interview. My needs are met, like whatever those needs are. So the specific things, and then you're like, I have I have been forgiven by the most high God. His mercy is at work in my life, and because of that, I have a clean state. I stand in holiness and righteousness before my king. I have been, I am delivered from every temptation, every evil, and from the evil one. I live a life without satanic interference in the name of Jesus. I give God glory, I give him praise, I give him adoration. My life is a well-watered garden. My life brings God glory in the name of Jesus Christ. Now you're declaring as it is done because you prayed it. Okay, so team, um, if you look on this YouTube channel, you will see a video that I did that is called Pray This With Me. Okay, so what I did is on Horizon Shine, um, a few days ago, we did we prayed the Lord's prayer. So we the team kind of got that part out, and I walk you through that now, not teaching it, but praying it. So you can literally, how long is this video? This video is 37 minutes and 51 seconds. So literally in 30 minutes, you can pray through the Lord's prayer. Like, and I'm you and I pray, okay? So we pray, we raise a prayer point, we pray in the spirit, doing all the things, and you can pray it, right? You can pray it every day if you want, right? And then listen to me because we are rise and shine, we don't let anything stop with us. That also means we take this prayer, we are praying it for our family members, we're praying it for our pastor. Just take it 37 minutes, boom, let's go through it. So you can go that do that over and over and over again. And what are you doing? You're a tree, and this is the thing. The more you do it, the better you get at doing it. The more you do it, the more God will expand it. Because remember, these are chapters, right? The more God will expand it, the more He'll give you prayer points under the prayer points, and your life will like is it's it's God in every aspect. Yeah, Lola said it perfectly. Nothing missing, nothing broken. Shalom, shalom. Shalom, shalom. That's the life you now live. And your life is like a well-watered garden. Okay, so the team is gonna post the link in a second, and they're gonna post that link. I want you to grab it. So that's the next thing you're gonna do. You're gonna take that and you're gonna pray it through. And you're gonna pray it through. Just pray through it. Don't listen to it. Okay, this one is to listen to, that one is not to listen to. That one is as the prayer is going, you pray. As the prayer is going, you pray. Okay, and you want to take this and share it, like this video, and share with everyone in your world. Why? Because can we pray amiss? Yes, that's why the disciples said, Jesus, teach us to pray. There is a way to pray. Give it to everybody in your world and say, Listen, you gotta you gotta get this because oh my goodness, this is so mind-blowing. And then you want to start praying it for yourself. Now, the reason I took the time to explain this to you is because you can pray a version of this in five minutes, you can pray a version of this in 30 minutes, you can pray a version of this in three hours, you can pray a version of this in six hours because you can expand, like you can expand this. So I could give you 10 prayer points underneath each one of these seven things. Okay, so we are going to go deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper in him. The title of the video is Let's Pray the Lord's Prayer Together. Okay, let's pray the Lord's Prayer Together. Okay, now this is what I want to leave you with. God designed you to have a life that is a well-watered garden. God designed you to have a life where somebody will look at it and say, huh, that is the finger of God. God designed you to have a life that is a sign and a wonder. God designed you to have a life that makes the enemy confused. God designed you to have a life. When people look at where you came from and the life you have, they're like, How did we get here? God designed you to have that life. So please hear me. Part of your corresponding action is to then take these prayers and use it as a template to invite God, invite his intervention, invite his grace, invite his mercy into your life. And guess what? As you do it, you'll find that it touches every aspect of life. Your walk with him is represented, you advancing his kingdom is represented, your finances is represented under daily bread, you being heaven-bound because you keep your heart void of offense and you're receiving forgiveness. You stay heaven-bound, you stay off limits to the kingdom of darkness, like everything is covered. So, this is the life, this is the pathway to a life that is a well-watered garden. And I invite every single one of you to participate. So, watch this as many times as you watch to get it deeply. Take the video that we just released and pray it, right? Pray it and do it over and over, different aspects of life, all of that stuff, and start your journey to a life that can be described as a well-watered garden. I am rooting for you always, and I cannot wait to see what God does in your life as you start praying according to the template that Jesus gave you. If this has helped you in any way, I would love for you to join the movement and share this episode with your friends, family, and the Christians in your world. By doing this simple thing, you could be changing the trajectory of someone's lives, their family, and their community. That makes you a world changer and they will love you forever.
