Welcome to the Success by the Book Podcast, the place where Christians who want to experience the extravagant goodness of God in all areas of their lives come from mentorship. I am your host, Dr. Inn, and I'll be unpacking the secrets I have learned from the Word of God over the last two decades. Let's dive in. One of the greatest tricks, one of the greatest hacks that Satan has done against the church is that he has convinced the church that actually not convinced us, he's created controversy around praying in tongues. Okay. He's made it where this is a controversial thing. And is made controversial, first of all, to stop believers from praying in tongues, which we're gonna see at the end of today, the reason why, oh my goodness, this is a non-negotiable. We must do this and we must do this a lot. Okay. So number one is he convinces us that, oh no, praying in tongues, no, that's gone. It went with the apostles. Oh, it must be a known language. If if nobody understands what you're saying, then it must not be real and all of that. And then right after that, if he cannot convince you not to pray, if you do get around to praying, there's already so much doubt that has been put in there. So when you're praying the spirit, you're wasting your time, you don't know what you're saying, this is this is useless, it's not making a difference, and all of these things. Today, I am going to show you, and I'm not making any of this up, I am going to show you from the word of God 10 benefits. Okay. 10 benefits of praying in the spirit, of praying in tongues, of praying in other tongues, so that after today, when the trickster tries to trick you, you're gonna say, No, sir, no can do. Okay, because you know exactly what he's trying to rob you of. Now, I want you to think about this, okay? The Bible talks about this in John 10 10. The Bible says that the thief, referring to Satan, the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy, he's a thief. And you must know that no thief goes to an empty warehouse. If a thief goes somewhere and trying to steal something, is because it is valuable. And so if you see the amount of controversy around speaking in tongues and all of those things, it is also a pointer to how valuable it is. Because if it if it didn't bother him, if it's not wrecking his kingdom, is it if it's not stopping him from doing what he's trying to do in your life, he'd leave you alone. The reason why he's not leaving you alone is because it's so powerful. Okay, so let's talk about this a little. This is important, okay. I started praying in the spirit in my final year in med school. Okay, so this is the year 2000. This is a while ago. I started praying, or 2001. Um, I started praying in the spirit in my in my final year in med school. And I had been of the opinion of, you know, oh, I'm not praying in tongues. What is that? I'm an intellectual. We don't do things like that. I don't know what I'm saying. That's for people who are fanatical. Blah, blah, blah, blah. I had all of those things. Okay. And eventually I started praying, and I was like, this is nuts. Like, this is so good. And then, but every time I would go to pray, it's a constant assault against my wife. You're wasting your time. Look at that. You could have used this time to do other things. And I was a medical student, so of course I could have used the time to do other things. So we had this place, you know, the final year students in my medical school, they all stayed in one dorm. It was right by the hospital, right? And at the back of the dorm was just this place. It was like at the back of a number of classrooms, and it had this road that was right in front of it, but you couldn't see it from the college. So it's kind of isolated. You couldn't see from the dorm. It was isolated and it was well lit. Okay. So I would go there. We we used to call that place the island of Patmos. I don't know where the name came from. It was people who are Christians years before us who named it that. They call it the island of Patmos, and people just go there to go pray. And so I went there, I would go there to go pray. I'm pacing and praying, pacing and praying. And then one day I remember pacing and praying, and this constant nagging, you're wasting your time. You could have done other things with this. You're wasting your time. What is this praying the spirit? You don't even know what you're saying. You don't know if it's working, and on and on and on. It was so much that I turned around as if there was a being with me, right? I turned around and said, Satan, listen, at this point, I don't care if it works, I don't care if it doesn't work, I don't care if it's if I'm wasting my time, I don't care. I am not going to stop. So you might as well go on now. You might as well get out of here because I am not going to stop. Now, at that point, I didn't know all the stuff I'm about to teach you. My faith, I had some faith in it, but not that much faith, right? But I knew, like, for me to have this much pressure to stop, the pressure is not from God, right? God is not saying it's a sin, right? His word said this is something to do. For me to have this much pressure, this must be something good. So I turned, I said, listen, I don't care if it's working or not working. I don't care if I'm wasting my time or I'm not wasting my time. I am not going to stop. Okay. All right. So I kept praying, but I want to tell you a number of things that happen as a result of that. Okay. Now, when I was doing this, we were about to take a series of exams. And I have to explain medical school in Nigeria to you, right? Because I went to medical school, I went to the University of Nigeria. Medical is in medical school in Nigeria is survival of the fittest. So is it based on the European system where you put as many people as possible as you can in the first year, knowing that this is the number of people you're going to graduate and made the best man win. So it's not about getting A's, it's about being part of the chosen number. So my class, I think we started off about 420, and it was a little over 120 that graduated. So it's not about A's, it's about being one of the 120. And so we were coming up on exams, okay, at this time when I was at the island of Patmas Pray. And I'll tell you two remarkable things that happened. One thing that happened was one of those days, in fact, the day I turned around and told Satan, you might as well just go on now because I'm not going to stop. I went back into the dorm. And when I got there, you know, I was just looking at the information board. And, you know, like I had my pediatric oral exam the following day. And I mean, the way these work, they put you into, they take you to the pediatric floor, they point at any patient, you go see the patient, you know, get the history, do all of those things, then present the patient to the examiner. That's kind of the way it went. Very brutal. And you can fill out at any year. You know what I mean? It was just crazy. So, anyway, so I go in, as I get to that bulletin board, I just have this knowing tomorrow, you're gonna get a patient and it's gonna be on neprotic syndrome syndrome. So go learn nephrotic syndrome. Now I knew about nephrotic syndrome, right? But as I go look, like now that you have the inside information, go look at it. So I pull out my note, I'm reading this whole thing, and you know, different people have different ways of learning. I keep pictures of my notebook in my mind. That's just I have a very photographic memory when it comes to things that I read. Like I can literally go to an exam and I'm looking at the page and writing off the page in my mind on the paper. It's just weird, but that's the way I learn. So, anyway, so the next day I go for this exam. Okay, I get in, I get to the pediatric floor. The person who's my examiner is the person who taught us nephrotic syndrome. I'm like, interesting. Okay. So I, you know, I say hi to him, we do all of these things, and then he starts taking, he starts walking the floor with me to point out a patient that I would take care of, that you know, that I would, you know, go through the emotions with and come and present. And so as he was walking me through the floor, he pointed at a patient. I almost died. Now, this patient that he pointed at, this patient had been on the floor for 90 days. Okay, nobody knew what was wrong with this kid. Nobody knew what was wrong with this kid. I was like, oh my goodness, like you can't give me this patient. Like, like even the attendees don't know what is wrong with this patient. So he's so I started walking towards the patient. He calls me back, he said, No, no, no, no, no, come back. And then he points at another patient. And I look at this patient, and I didn't need anybody to tell me that patient had nephrotic syndrome. I was like, hang on, Lord. So not only does he give me a patient who has nephrotic syndrome, my examiner is a person who taught nephrotic syndrome and neprotic syndrome, the the picture of the notes I took in his class were locked in my mind. How do you think that exam went? Okay, it was so fantastic. But what was it? It was a product of spending time praying in the spirit because when you pray in the spirit, you get access to knowledge that you don't have otherwise. Now, am I telling you, don't study, just wait on God to tell you what will happen? No, I didn't tell God to do that. That is how He chose to work. Okay. Okay, so that was that. Okay. Now I had pediatrics, I had OBGYN. Okay, so I had another example. I'm like, okay, and I'm I'm studying, minding my business, studying, putting in the reps, putting in the hours, reading, right? Because remember, your success is an evangelistic tool, and hard work is not a curse. We are designed to work hard. Okay, so I'm reading, I'm doing all of the things, and there was a part I refused to read. Okay, it's like stations of the pelvis. These are the stations of the pelvis. I'm like, ugh, what is that? I don't want to read it. Okay. So I made an executive decision. I'm not reading that. Okay. Now, from the beginning of the day, I just had this thing ringing in my spirit. Stations of the pelvis. Read the station of the pelvis. And so this is me arguing with God. A lot of times when you see yourself arguing with yourself, you're arguing with God. Okay. I'm like, I'm not reading that. Stations of the pelvis. I'm not reading that. Stations of the pelvis. I'm not reading that. We get to the night, right? So this is all day. And I'm like, you know what? Before I come out of here and say something told me and blah, blah, blah. I better just, even if I don't want to read it and fully understand it, I might as well just memorize it. Okay. So yours truly went back to her textbook, pulled out the stations of the pelvis, and memorize this. Okay. So I memorized it, went in to take my exam. And of course, one of the questions there was the stations of the pelvis. Okay. So I just vomited what I memorized. And that was that. I am telling you to say, see, Arthur G tallers with me. Didn't like that part of anatomy either. I didn't like, I was like, what is this? So I was I am telling you this to say God, it's not like my life, and then there's my relationship with God. It's the same. And the more we use the spiritual tools that God has given us, the more we can walk in the dominion we're called to walk in, the more we can be signs and wonders. Can you imagine adding diligence plus superior knowledge and direction because you're somebody who prays in the spirit? Can you imagine that? Can you imagine that? So this is what we're going, this is what we're going to talk about, because that was what started my journey of building my faith in what praying in the spirit can do for you. Because if you have the faith for it, you will do it. Understand it, the ROI, the return on investment of this is so wild. If you're doing it just because someone said you should do it, or you think it's, you know, some you know, a way to get spiritual brownie points, you will not be able to leverage and pull the full advantage. Okay. So for me, I take the time to study and build faith in the power of praying in tongues. And we are going to we're going to look at 10 benefits because I want you to build your faith in praying in tongues. And because you know this is something Satan fights so much, I want you to join this mission. So let's start. 10 benefits. And we're going to trust God. We're going to get through all 10. And every time you feel your faith waning, it's not a problem. You just come back, you watch this again, you build your faith. Okay. And I got a I got resources for you and all of this stuff. From today, your life will be different because you will have faith in what you're doing. And you will do it, and it will create results, and it will rock your world, and you'll be a sign and a wonder. And when the chips are down, when challenges show up, you know how to respond. You know what you got. Okay. All right. Number one 10 benefits of praying in the spirit. Now we will never forget this. So the first one is it increases your faith. Okay. It increases your faith. Let me read this scripture for you. So this is Jude. Jude only has one chapter, so it's Jude verse 20. This is what it says. Pay attention to this. Okay. It says, but you beloved, building yourselves up in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Praying in the Holy Spirit. How do we build up that faith? Let me tell you something. There are things that will happen in your life to shake your faith. Not a problem. Not a problem. If you can understand when my faith level is low, yes, I can read the word, but I have an internal generator that I can turn on. And if I turn on this generator, my faith goes like that. Okay? You get bad news, and you immediately like, how do I respond to this? And you know, if you respond in that moment, you're gonna say the wrong thing. You can't even bring yourself to believe the right thing and all of that. What do you do? You take out time and you pray in the spirit until you build that faith up. Until you build that faith up. You have a project. Like many of us, God is giving you things and you say, I want you to do this. Well, you're like, Lord, there's no like how do you know who you're talking to? I'm not the kind of person who does that. But let me tell you, you can take that thing. This is an assignment God has given me. And you can put it, you can write it on an index card in front of you, and you could put the scriptures you're standing on in front of you, and you just sit or pace and pray, and you're just praying in the spirit, praying in the spirit, praying in the spirit until you hit a gusher. When you hit that gusher, you'll know because all of a sudden, this thing that was so huge becomes much smaller. Why? Because your faith became bigger. I do this with goals all the time. All the time. I have listen, let me tell you something. There is a business I run called Entre MD, okay? And it's for physicians. And this business is about helping doctors build profitable businesses so they have the freedom to live life and practice medicine on their terms. When people look at it, they can really think, oh, Dr. Una is a genius. Look at what she's doing. But this is the deal. God called me to start that. He called me to start the business school, right? And when he said it, I was like, Lord, how can I start a business school? I'm first of all, I don't have a business degree. Second of all, yes, I run a successful business, but I have one business. What I think, so Emery has a business school, um, Harvard has a business school. Now I'm going to say I have a business school. Like, what is this? So, how did I build the faith to take that thing and run with it? This is our seventh year in business now. And that business has been on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in the US for three years in a row. How did I do that? I would take it, I would take what God has said about it and I hold and I'm praying and I'm praying in the spirit. I pray in the spirit. Then I declare I'm the woman for the job. I'm called by God and anointed by God. I'm blessed by God for this assignment. I'm praying in the spirit, I'm praying in the spirit, and doing that. How? To build up my faith. So when you find yourself challenges are thrown at you and you need faith, what is a tool God has given you? What is that internal generator God has given you to generate faith? It's praying in the spirit, it's praying in tongues. This is why the enemy fights it because how do we overcome the world? We overcome the world with our faith. It's with our faith. It is faith that moves mountains. So, of course, if you have a faith generator, Satan's gonna want to stop that. You pray, you pray in the spirit, you pray, and you pray until I want you to practice praying until. So you pray and pray on pray until you're like, aha, let's go. Let's go. So, whether it's a goal, whether it's a challenge, whether whatever it is, and you need faith for it, you build it. I told you guys many times the story of my daughter when you know my first daughter chat when I was pregnant with her, and they're like, Oh, you you guys might as well just abort this baby has a diaphragmatic hernia, half of her liver is in her chest, there's no space for her lungs to grow, and on top of it, there's fluid around her heart, so there's still no more space for her lungs to grow and all of this stuff. How did I go through that journey? Because the diagnosis was made when she was 20, when I was 21 weeks pregnant, and I had her at 39 weeks. I want you to think about the distance of time. How did I go that time? I went that time, praying in the spirit, pray. So I will go get an ultrasound, and the ultrasound is exactly the same. Meanwhile, I'm thinking God is just gonna, you know, fix this and all of that stuff. The ultrasound is still the same. My faith is like tending downwards, and I sit and I pray in the spirit. I pray in the spirit, I'm patient, I'm praying, I'm praying, I'm praying until what my faith comes back up. I'm like, let's go. Let's go, let's go. Okay. So we are people who practice praying until we understand it's a faith generator. So we pray and generate faith. We don't roll over, we don't play dead. The same mouth and time used to say, Oh, this is not working, I don't know what is going on. You can use that and pray in the spirit until your faith is built. So Satan won't tell you, oh, complain about your life is controversial, but he'll tell you praying in tongues is controversial. Why? Because it's what handles him, but complaining opens the door for him. So we don't open doors for Satan, we open doors for God. How? By praying in the spirit and raising our faith. Okay, okay. So are we gonna stop praying in the spirit? No. Are we gonna stop selling people on praying in the spirit? No, are we gonna stop encouraging people to pray in the spirit? No, why? It builds our faith, it builds our faith. That's number one. Okay, so number one, number two, and and when it comes to building your faith, I know I talked about projects and all of that stuff, but just maintaining the habit of praying in the spirit keeps your faith, right? So we use it also as maintenance to kind of hold our faith up there, right? So we just have this habit. This is why on Horizon Shine, right? Prayer meeting every morning at six o'clock, we come, we pray, we pray in the spirit, we pray in the spirit every day. We don't wait for the battle to show up before we pray in the spirit. We pray in the spirit every day. Keep our faith at an all-time high so we can quench all the fiery darts of the enemy. I want you to think about it. Your faith is part of your armor, it's the only part of your armor that's offensive. Right? Okay, hold on. It's not the only part of your armor that's offensive, it's it's part of your defense, is the shield of faith. The Bible says the shield of faith is in Ephesians 6 by which you quench all the fiery darts of the enemy. And so if you have a tool that builds your faith that quenches all the fiery darts of the enemy, why would we not use it? Okay, number two, second benefit of praying in the spirit, it empowers you to pray mysteries. We live in mysterious times. One of the things you need is the ability to pray mysteries. Okay, now there's nothing I'm telling you that won't be in the word of God. So, 1 Corinthians chapter 14. That's kind of the tongues, one of the tongues chapters. First Corinthians chapter 14, verse 2. This is what it says. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him. So somebody may have told you praying in tongues is only real if it's a known language, because that's what happened in Acts chapter 2. Okay, God did not stop the Bible at Acts chapter 2. There are more chapters, and in this chapter it says that no one understands him. So when you pray in the spirit, no one understands you. Okay, okay. However, however, in the spirit, he speaks mysteries. When you pray in this in the spirit, you are speaking mysteries. What is a mystery? Something that is too difficult to explain or understand. You may right now go like, oh my goodness, what is going on in my life is too difficult to explain or understand. You have a way of praying where you can pray mysteries. You don't, you may not understand it all, but you can pray for it intelligently as if you did. Your highest IQ prayers are prayers in tongues because they bypass your IQ. This is God giving you the words to pray about things you know about and things you don't know about. You can just sit and say, you know what? Let me just take care of some mysterious things. And you can pray in the spirit to handle mysterious things, to provoke good mysterious things happening in your life, to handle mysterious things that have been programmed at you that you don't know about, mysterious battles you face in the future, whatever. Just pray, and when you pray, you're praying as if you know what those things are, you understand them, and you're praying accordingly. What so if I have a way of praying and I can pray mysteries, why will I not pray? Why will I keep my mouth shut when I can speak mysteries? I will speak out listen, I will pray mysteries. You're like, I don't know what will happen when I'm 40 and you're 20. You may not know, but you can pray it out when you pray in tongues. I wonder what will happen in December. You may not know, but you can pray it out when you pray in tongues. There are challenges going on, and you don't know your left from your right. What is going on here? You may not know, but you can pray for it intelligently when you pray in tongues. So it empowers you to pray mysteries. And the thing about this is that if you do this habitually, your life becomes mysterious. Where people are starting saying things like, I don't know how this is working for you, I don't know how you were able to escape this, I don't know how this affected everybody else and it didn't affect you. I don't know how. How do we trigger this? By praying in the spirit, by praying in tongues. Do you think? Do you see how it is so smart for Satan to stop you from praying? Because he's like, I don't need them building their faith, and I don't need them praying, no mysteries. Now, now, I want to show you something else. Okay, this is very close to this, but it's a little different. I'm gonna read so let me tell you what it is. Number three, it helps you bypass the limitations of your mind. It helps you bypass the limitations of your mind. I'll show you why this is important in a second. I'm gonna read the same scripture I read because it's from the same place. Okay, so 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 2, it says, He who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men, but to God. For no one understands him. However, in the spirit he's speaking mysteries. Okay, now the words that this person is speaking in is speaking, when you're praying in tongues, where do the words come from? They don't come from you, you're not making them up. The we speak as the Holy Spirit gives us utterance, we're giving voice to the words he's giving us. Okay, the reason why this is important is that there are things based on your mind you will not pray for. You will not pray for. Okay. Okay. So let me let me let me let me bring this let me bring this home. God may be calling you to grow your business. You don't know how to grow your business. You think growing your business will mean a lot more work. And so when you look at the amount of work you're doing now, you're like, I ain't fixing do that. Okay? When you pray in the spirit, who gave you the words? God. So for all you know, what you're saying is, Lord, in the name of Jesus, I believe you for this next level of growth. I believe you for the wisdom required to take this business to the next level. Meanwhile, in your mind, you're like, we ain't doing no business. What are you talking about? And you're like, Lord, I asked for the right mentors, I asked for the right books, the right information that will show me how to do this your way in a way where I can produce so much more by doing a lot less. You're praying for all these things and you don't know. And you can't resist the prayer because you don't know what you're praying for, right? You don't know what you're praying for. So the limitations that you have in your mind, you can overcome them by being this person who prays in the spirit. So you overcome the limits in your mind. Like Mary, God may have shown you pictures, and in your mind, you're like, How shall these things be? But because you're somebody who prays in the spirit, you're birthing them. Even though in your mind you're like, I can't contain that, so I'm not even gonna entertain it. You're praying for it, even though your mind can't contain it. But see, if everything that happens in your life is a product of your mind, your life cannot be a sign and a wonder. It cannot be because it's explainable. It can't be, right? So, one of the things God has put in place so we can pray through what He wants to do in us, even though we may be fighting it, is praying in the spirit. Praying in the Spirit. Mind limitations, of course, there's a place of the word, right? So don't hear what I'm not saying. I'm not saying we don't use the word to upgrade our mind and all of those things, but you know, upgrading your mind, it'd be taking time. You know what I'm saying? So God can work from this angle. We're working from this angle. Hallelujah. Okay, so that's number that's number three. That's number three. Number four, pay attention to this. You become eligible. You become eligible for great revelation, great revelation. Like when you do things, people are like, How did she do that? How did he do that? Let me explain this to you. Okay, I'm gonna read again first Corinthians chapter 14, verse 2, and I'm gonna read another verse. Please pay attention to this. For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands him. However, in the spirit he speaks mysteries. When you pray in tongues, you're not babbling, you're not wasting your time, you're not saying nonsense, you are speaking mysteries. You must remember this. Now, what is a mystery? Something too difficult to explain or understand. So let's now look at verse 13. It says, Therefore, let him who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. Hold on. When I pray in the spirit, I am praying words given to me by God, and I'm declaring mysteries. I am saying mysterious things. I am saying things that to my natural mind are mysterious, they're too difficult to explain or understand. And then God goes on to say, when you are done praying in tongues, also pray. If you're someone who prays in tongues, also pray for the ability to interpret, which means what are you interpreting? You are interpreting the mysteries you spoke. Oh, hold on. If I pray in tongues, I'm declaring mysteries. And God said I can also come over here and ask him for the interpretation of said mysteries. When you hear me talk about us believing God's for downloads, that's what I'm talking about. So I speak the mysteries, I ask God for the interpretation of the mysteries, and all of a sudden, I have understanding of things custom for me, right, that are too difficult to explain or understand. If you if you are somebody who prays in the spirit regularly, and you download the interpretation of what you prayed, which are mysteries regularly, that means we're talking genius mode. Because what you'll be able, you'll be talking to people, and they're like, that is so mysterious. I don't know how she understands these things, I don't know how she gets these things, I don't know how he how he read that scripture and got that from that scripture. I don't understand how he came up with this solution for this problem. You become a mystery, you become a mystery. Like people are like, oh my goodness, how do you see? If you were Satan, of course he would stop you from praying in tongues. We only have number four. You become eligible for great revelation. Great revelation. Let me tell you something. When I host events, you better believe I spend time praying in the spirit. And I'm like, Lord, what do we do? So everybody who walks in this room comes in one way, they have this experience, they leave, and they're completely different people. And I pray in the spirit, I'm praying in the spirit, I'm praying in the spirit. He's like, you have to start it this way. I'm praying in the spirit, praying in the spirit. He's like, make sure you address this, pray in the spirit, praying in the spirit, add this component to this, praying in the spirit, I have this discussion system. And I put it all together. The last event I hosted, this was for my clients. So these are people who are in the entream D business school. These are people who are with me every week. Some of them have been in the business school for six years. I have taught them for six years, every week. I've taught them for six years, and they come into this event mind blown. They walk away rating this event nine out of nine stars. A hundred percent of them said they're very, they they got it and they're very clear what their next steps are. They're ready to go. Where did that come from? Right? I am telling you. So you pray in the spirit. God already gave you the prayer point. You done pray. Pray, you interpret. Now that doesn't mean Lord, I interpret, and then you're getting all bent out of shape because you feel like I haven't heard what he said right now. No, no, that's not what this is. When we ask him, he answers us sometimes in real time, sometimes when we're taking a walk, sometimes when we're taking a shower, sometimes when we're talking with somebody. I was talking to somebody last week. I was talking to somebody last week, and the person asked me a question, and I was I was answering the question. And in answering the question, I was solving a problem that I have been dealing with for like five years, trying to figure out. Like I've been getting a series of answers, right? But trying to figure out how do I work this thing, boom, it from my own mouth. So God res God answers when God answers, but we have to have the faith that He's answering. So it makes you eligible for great revelation. So all this thought of there are only certain people who can have great revelation, the devil is a liar. You are a candidate for great revelation. What do you do? You pray in the spirit, you pray for the ability to interpret. You pray in the spirit, you pray for the ability to interpret. Okay, all right. If you're getting it so far, I want you to throw up those fire emojis, fire emojis. God is God is on it. God is on it. So that's number four. You become eligible for great revelation. Number five, you pray for things you don't know about. Listen to me. We live in this world, and the Bible calls Satan the God little G of this world, the world system. Okay, but God didn't call us to be victims of this system. That's why it says you are in the world, but you're not of the world. That's why the Bible says that there'll be darkness over the earth and gross darkness over the people, but the glory of the Lord will be risen upon you. You are called to be exempt. Do you know what is going on in the world? No. Do you know the next pandemic that will show up? No. Do you know the next do you know all these things? The evil that has been planned in the earth, all of this, do you know it? You don't know. But you have been given a way to pray for things you don't know about as if you knew about them. Okay, let's look at the scripture here. So if you choose to keep your mouth shut, you may be setting yourself up to be not exempt. God forbid. God forbid. Okay, Romans chapter 8, verse 26. Okay, Romans chapter 8, verse 26. This is what it says like wise, the spirit also helps in our weaknesses. The Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. Do we have weaknesses? Yes, but because we have the Holy Spirit, we can function as though we have no weaknesses. Okay, likewise, the Spirit also helps us in our weaknesses. Then the Bible goes on to give an example. For example, for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought. So deciding that I'm only going to pray the things I understand is pride. It is called pride because your little brain doesn't know everything you're supposed to pray about. Okay? It says, for we do not know what we should pray for as we ought. Because the Holy Spirit helps us in our weaknesses. So I may not know everything I need to pray for. I don't know what's gonna happen in the next hour, I don't know what's gonna happen in the next day. I don't know, I don't know, but there's a big, big, big, big butt there. But I have the Holy Spirit, and guess what? He knows. Okay, so here he says, for we do not know what we should pray for as we are, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. The Holy Spirit gives us words to pray. The Holy Spirit knows the mind of the Father. The Holy Spirit knows every trap of the enemy. The Holy Spirit knows the end from the beginning, and the Holy Spirit said, I'm gonna give you first of all, the father said, I'm gonna send Jesus to die. So your body can now become a temple of the Holy Spirit. I'm gonna put the Holy Spirit in you, okay? I'm gonna put the Holy Spirit in you, I'll put the Holy Spirit upon you, and the Holy Spirit is gonna give you words. He you don't have to know the whole will, you don't have to figure everything out. It's just that when he gives you words, you're gonna open up your mouth and you're gonna pray said words. And when you pray said words, because you are praying to me and you have jurisdiction on the earth as a human, I will come as God and answer your prayer. Like that's legal cheating. That's like that's ultimate cheat code. Like he has the will, but you gotta pray the will. So he gets the Holy Spirit, puts him on the inside of you, gives you the words, bypasses your mind in case with your mind you want to interrupt the prayer, and you're praying the prayer, he comes and he answers it. So you don't know everything, but he knows everything. And if you can give voice to the words he's giving you to pray, you can pray as if you know everything. You can pray in faith as if you know everything. All I need to do is just have a prayer life, pray, pray in the spirit, right? Do what God tells me, and I'll be handling stuff. And sometimes he tells you, pray a little more. And you're like, huh, must be something he wants to handle, and you pray a little more. Sometimes you have this burden, like something something's wrong. I just have this urge to pray. I don't know what it is. No problem, because he does. You just pray, and you're praying, and you're praying. Okay, so his job is to know all the things, his job is to know all the strategy, his job is to know how the prayer needs to go. My job is just to open my mouth and give voice to what he's already put on the inside of me. What? I will pray. I sure will. Okay, number five. Are we gonna get through 10? Pray for me. Number six. Oh, number six is so powerful. Number six is unbelievable. Okay, let's do number six now. First Corinthians chapter 14. Well, we're gonna read verse four this time. I want you to pay attention to this. Oh my goodness, this is so good. First Corinthians chapter 14, verse 4. It says, He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself. But he who prophesies edifies the church. So sometimes people use this to say, oh, it's better to prophesy to the church. No, no, no, is not or is and okay. So if I'm prophesying, like for instance, what I'm doing now is prophetic, like I'm speaking prophetically under the anointing to deliver deliver God's word. That's part of prophesying. Are you being edified? You're being edified. So that's one side, but there's another side, and that side is he who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, edifies himself, builds up himself, charges up himself. Listen to me. The word here is a word that is like construction. So, so so so number six is that you construct your own life, your own destiny, you're building it up. I want you to think about your destiny and your life like a building. And when you're praying in the spirits, you're building the building. Okay I want you to think about it like if I want to work this body, like can this body, can this body have a six-pack and be completely ripped? Yes. What will it require? Going to the gym and lifting weights. Can you have a spirit and a life that is a sign and a wonder? Yes. What will it require? Time spent praying in the spirit. Because when you pray in the spirit, you are edifying yourself, you are building up yourself, you are charging yourself, you are improving yourself. You can legit go and sit in your room or take a walk and pace and pray. And you're like, you know what? Let me spend, let me spend an hour constructing my life. The same mouth used to say, Oh, my life is such a mess. You don't know all the mistakes I've made, and I've tried, and this didn't work, and this is the reason why this is not working. That same mouth, you can use it and go like mandeley salibrakunanas, knowing that as I'm doing that, I'm edifying myself, I'm building up myself, I'm charging up myself, I'm taking myself higher and higher. I'm constructing this life, I'm constructing this destiny. Same mouth. I will not abuse myself with my mouth. Using your mouth to say things that do not line up with the word of God, that's abuse. And you are made in the image of God, and God creates with words, and so do you. So our era of destroying ourselves with our tongues, that's over. That era of not using our tongues strategically to build up ourselves, that's over. Sha ta sigede salipa, words inspired by the Holy Spirit to edify myself. Edify myself, build up myself, charge up myself. You can decide I change every day. You can decide I change, I grow every day, I edify myself every day, I go to the spiritual gym every day. Every day, I go to the spiritual gym every day. What does it take? Do, do, do, do, do, do, do move the mouth, move the mouth, move the mouth. Yes, move the mouth. Okay, edify myself. Okay, now I'm gonna give you, I'm gonna give you four more. I'm gonna give you these ones quickly, and I have a resource for you. Okay, I have a resource for you. Oh, this is so good. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you for the gift of praying in other tongues. What a gift to us. What a gift to us. Okay, I'm gonna read 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 4. We already talked about it edifying ourselves, but we're gonna break it down. We're gonna look at it in the amplified version. So we're gonna amplify it, okay? And we're gonna get the rest of the points from there. Okay. So 1 Corinthians chapter 14, verse 4, the amplified version. This is what it says one who speaks in a tongue edifies himself. Can you edify yourself every day? Yes, two times a day? Yes, you can edify yourself a lot. You can change a lot, grow a lot, do you, you, you can make you better every single day. Okay. One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but one who prophesies edifies the church. Now, amplified breaks out this word edify, it means promotes growth in spiritual wisdom, devotion, holiness, and joy. What just happened? When I pray in the spirit, I promote growth in spiritual wisdom. Oh, I'm not that smart. What? Spiritual wisdom, growth in devotion, growth in holiness, growth in joy. So we need to unpack this, okay? All right, so number seven, increase in spiritual wisdom. Increase in spiritual wisdom. Those of you who are here who pray in the spirit, you will attest to this. This book, this book, this book is a sealed book. That is why there are people who have PhDs in this book, but the book is not working in their lives. And there's some old grandma who reads her Bible and prays in the spirit, and she's using this book so. And put her entire lineage on the path of greatness because the book is open to her. This book is a closed book. You can read the letters, but the letters you get you need revelation from this book. Now, when you start praying in the spirit, you open the same thing you've read your entire life, and you're like, wait, what just happened? What just happened here? What triggers that growth in spiritual wisdom where you're able to pull wisdom from the Bible? You're able to pull wisdom by praying in the spirit. Oh my goodness, there's so many things I use in my business that's made people like when I teach people about business that's made them millions of dollars. And they're literally, they're literally things I pulled out of the Bible. Pulled out of the Bible. You will get so much wisdom, so much direction, so many blueprints for your life. And I'm not saying it just with respect to the Bible, but if you are a person who prays in the spirit, you are a person who will tap into wisdom. Wisdom that'll blow blow your whole mind. You're like, wait, what just happened here? For instance, I'll give you an example. I was like, so I run a business, I need to get the message everywhere. Jesus ran a ministry, he got the message everywhere. How did he do it? And I started looking at the book, I started looking at the book, and I pulled out 11 marketing strategies of Jesus, including that Jesus went on tour speaking. And so if I decide I'm an introvert, I'm growing a business, I don't want to speak. It might be a little tough because Jesus didn't escape speaking. Jesus went out there to get his message. So which means if I'm in here hiding behind my computer and I don't want to interface with people, we fixing have a problem. Wisdom, where did it come from? Here you pray in the spirit, this book becomes an open book. It literally becomes like the Holy Spirit right behind you. Said, girl, let me show you some stuff from this book. Pray in the spirit. Okay. So when I pray in the spirit, what do I do? I increase in spiritual wisdom. Every aspect of your life, God can give you strategies for your marriage, for raising your kids, for running your money, all of those things. He'll give you everything. And if you're here and you think God doesn't God doesn't talk about money, you're tripping. There's one day. My husband's talking about real estate and all this stuff. I was like, I don't like real real estate is not my thing. I don't really like real estate. And God was like, um, you do know real estate is a family business, right? I mean, we own the whole earth, like all the land. So what did that do? That got me straight real quick. I was like, okay, how do I know about said real estate? Okay, okay. So that's number, what was that? Number seven? Number seven. Okay. Number number eight. I increase in devotion. Please hear me. You might say, oh, I struggle to pray, I struggle to read my Bible, I struggle to go to church, I struggle to do the things that I'm supposed to do as someone devoted to God, to spend time in his presence. Let me tell you what you do. If you find yourself there, you pray in the spirit. Because when you pray in the spirit, you will walk away with one revelation. Man, I need to do this more. Every time you spend time praying, what it does is it engineers, it activates an increased desire to spend time with God, an increased desire to worship, an increased desire to say, Oh my goodness, I want to live for an audience of one. That's what prayer does. So when you do force yourself to pray, because emotions and feelings are not required. This is a discipline. When you do that, you bring yourself to a position where you pray more. You fall in love with who you pray to, who you pray with, and who you pray for. So when you spend time praying the spirit, you increase in devotion. I'm stuck, I'm struggling my prayer life. You guys might tell you to resist it. You're not really struggling because you love to pray. You set a timer and you pray in the spirit because when you're done with that, you're gonna feel like it more. Okay, number nine, increase in holiness. Oh, you know, I run my mouth, you know, I'm I'm Christian, but you know, I cuss, I have a little cusser. The cuss is still there, right? All these things, right? I lie a little here, you know, I cheat, I do whatever that is. You sit and you pray in the spirit, knowing that, man, as you're praying in the spirit, you're increasing in holiness, you're increasing in your capacity to live according to the word of God. You're increasing. So you pray in the spirit. What Satan does is he discourages us and tells us not to pray. There is no holiness to be had outside of praying. So when you find yourself struggling, you bring yourself to the one who can help you. And we do that in prayer. Shao Sapia Kasia. And Satan is talking. Oh, look at you pray. Look, remember what you did yesterday. Mandola Broska. God saves to the uttermost those who come to him. I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live. Like this is what you do. We're not gonna roll over and play dead. We're not gonna let him convince us this is controversial. Are you kidding? No, this is a tool of tools given to us to turn our lives right side up. I'm increasing in holiness. You listen, you can take time and pray. You say, you know what? I'm gonna spend some time building my faith, growing in holiness, growing in spiritual wisdom, growing in devotion, growing in joy, building my faith, praying for things I don't know about, becoming eligible for great revelation. I'm gonna do, I'm gonna just pray and do all of that. That's what I'm gonna do. So when he starts telling you this foolishness, you're like, the devil is a liar. When you see other people who he sold on this foolishness, you tell, you know what? Let me give you a video. Let me tell you a story. Okay, let me tell you how important this is. I used to remember where I was standing many, many years ago. I think this was 2010, 2011. And people would come to church because we pray as we pray in the spirit a lot at church. People will come to church and they'd leave and they say, Oh, that church is a cult because they pray in the spirit. You know what God told me? One day we were praying, he said, I want you to make praying in the spirit core. I want you to teach people and make it core because God knows the tool he gave us, and Satan has has turned it into this whole thing that is dividing the body of Christ. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I'm an ambassador for the cause. Okay, number 10. Number 10, and then I'm gonna give you resources. I have some cool resources for you, is increase in joy. Ha! Let me tell you something you may not know about, Dr. Una. Okay, so this is still from 1 Corinthians 14, 4 amplified. It says, you you increase in joy, promotes growth in joy. I used to be one of the moodiest people you will ever meet. I woke up on the wrong side of my bed 97.9% of the time. Moody, moody, moody. Every time you see me, long face, thinking about my life, doing all of these things. One of the things that has converted me from that person to this person who is truly, truly full of joy. Where when I out of joy, I'm like, wait, wait, what's happening? This is no, this can't be happening. No, I I can't live like this, is praying in the spirit. I challenge you. So let me tell you what happens when I get discouraged with that discouragement. If there are tears, I'm not much of a crier, okay, just because of how I'm made. But if tears need to be flowing down your face, that you're that discouraged, you take you and the tears and your discouragement, and you sit yourself down or you go on pace and pray, and you open up that mouth and just start praying the spirit. And your head is going like it's not working, nothing is working, limitation of the mind, all of that. But this is a mind bypass. You see what I'm saying? It's a bypass. So even with all of that in your head, out of your mouth, let the word of the Lord come out. Because you will have times that you will be this, you have the invitation to be discouraged. Jesus said, Let not your heart be troubled. Why did he say that? Because your heart can be troubled. God said, Don't be discouraged. I am with you. Why did he say that? Because things will show up that will be discouraging. But one of the things you can use to increase your joy is praying the spirit. You find yourself sad. You woke up in the morning, you were just sad. And you could not put your finger on why. Your thing, you could not put your finger on why. You don't know why. You just woke up. You don't feel good. You, and I don't mean physically sick, you just you're sad, you're all of these things, right? You can wake up and you can say the devil is a liar. And in the meantime, you don't feel any kind of way. We don't need to feel to pray in tongues. We just pray in tongues. And what you don't is if you will pray until that thing will lift. God has given us a tool that will turn our entire right side up. God forbid that I'll believe a lie from the kingdom of darkness and not use the tool he's given me. I will use it, I will use it every day for maintenance, and I'll use it when things show up. I will use it, use it, use it. I will use it to build my faith. I will use it to empower myself to speak mysteries. I will use it to make myself eligible for great revelation. I will use it to pray for things I don't know about. I will use it to grow. I will use it to grow in spiritual wisdom, in joy, in holiness, in devotion, in all the things. I will not stop. I will not stop for me, and I'll prove it for me, and I'll build testimonies in my life based on what praying in tongues has done for me, and then I'll sell everybody in my world on it. Everybody. Why? Because it's a trick that Satan uses to keep us under. God gave us something so powerful that Jesus had to die for us to have it, and Satan has convinced us not to use it. God forbid that I will have an inheritance that I will not use. God forbid. Okay, so let's do some stuff. All right, now knowing these 10 things is useless if we won't pray in the spirit. Because I don't want you to just know them, I want you to experience them. And I want you to experience them at higher and higher levels. Okay. So this is what I want you to do. You can even take this and you can grab some friends, grab 10 friends, 20 friends, 40 friends. And you're like, hey, let's do this together. We're just gonna pray in the spirit, okay? And we're gonna check off our tracker and we're gonna we're gonna celebrate when we're done. We'll all get our coffee or hot chocolate or whatever and come on Zoom and we'll celebrate.
